How long does CCNA certification last?
The Cisco Certified Network Associate certification is a Cisco credential that verifies a person’s ability to manage and install small-to-medium-sized networks. Cisco offers CCNA, an entry-level certification in networking for those who are looking to get into IT or advance their career.
Cisco Certified Network Associate certification was created in 1998 to ensure that companies have the right skills and knowledge to install, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco products on local area networks.
Cisco Certified Network Associate certification, the most sought-after CCENT certification, is it. This certification is also known as the Associate level, which stands for Advanced-level technological expertise.
This post will explain how the CCNA certification is valid after the exam has been passed. It will also discuss what candidates can do to keep their CCNA certificate active once they have become Cisco Certified Network Associates. We'll also discuss what steps should be taken to recertify the CCNA credential if it ends. For more information about the CCNA certification series, as well as other IT certifications and best practice certifications, contact SPOTO.
How long is the CCNA Certificate valid?
You must meet several recertification requirements to recertify your certificate before it expires. To keep your CCNA certificate active, you don't need to do anything. Cisco is well-known for frequent updates to its certification program. Your certificate will be valid up to the expiration date if there are any changes to the CCNA exam.
Cisco certifies that you are proficient in Cisco technologies with the CCNA certification. This certification can also help you increase your marketability within and outside Cisco. For example, a CCNA Routing & Switching certification will prove your ability to manage, configure, maintain, and operate small-sized Cisco routers and switches.
What are the CCNA Certification Renewal Requirements for
Before your CCNA certificate expires, you must go through recertification. You have two options to renew your CCNA certificate. First, you can recertify by passing a traditional exam. The second option, which is more modern, involves obtaining CE (Continuing Education credits).
Cisco Learning Partners offers continuing education credits. These credits can be used to pass Cisco professional-level certifications, complete relevant Cisco-authorized courses, create exam questions for Cisco, and/or participate in local Cisco user groups and live technical sessions. To recertify as a CCNA, you must earn 40 CE credits.
You will need to pass the following exams to recertify.
Retake the 200-301 CCNA exam.
You can also take any of the associate exams. Retaking the 200-301 CCNA exam is your best option. Cisco also offers associate-level certificates, the DEVASC (Cisco Certified Devnet Associate) and the CBROPS (Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate). Recertifying your CCNA may be done by passing both and earning additional certifications.
Each of the five core technology exams can be used. Each of the five CCNP tracks has a core exam in technology: Enterprise, Data Center, Security, Service Provider, and Collaboration. The core exams for the Cisco Certified DevNet Pro and Cisco Certified CyberOps Pro certifications can be passed to renew your CCNA and gain additional expertise. Your network knowledge and experience will determine the certification you get. To become a specialist in network management, you must pass the core exam. You must pass both the core exam and a concentration exam to be eligible for professional accreditation.
Any of the five CCNP certifications, such as Cisco Certified CyberOps Professional and Cisco Certified DevNet Professional, can be taken for certification.
Any of the CCIE laboratory exams may be open to you. You must pass a technical core exam to be eligible for the CCIE lab exam. Although this option is not often used to recertify your CCNA certification, if you do decide to take the CCIE lab, all your prior certifications will be recertified, CCNA included.
Regaining Certified Status After CCNA Has Expired
Cisco requires that Cisco Certified Network Associates must recertify every three years to maintain their certification.
If CCNA holders have lost their certifications, there are two options to recertify. One is by taking a written exam and the other is by enrolling in an instructor-led online class. Pass it with 80% correct answers. Cisco's Learning Network is a learning portal that Cisco offers all CCNA holders. Participants can watch video tutorials and view study materials on the Learning Library.
We recommend that you recertify your certification before it expires. To renew your certificate, you will need to retake your CCNA exam if your certificate is expired. If you want to move up to higher levels of certifications, or use CE credits, it is important to recertify before your CCNA certificate expires.
Recertifying on time is your responsibility. Before scheduling your recertification exam, please be aware of Cisco’s five-day retake policy. For example, if you schedule your recertification exam three days before expiration, and then fail it, your certificates will expire.
What is the CCNA Recertification Fee?
The CCNA 200-301 exam costs $300. While the exact cost of your exam will vary depending on where you live and what taxes you pay, $300 seems reasonable. Make sure you are well prepared to avoid another expensive attempt.
The Cisco Certified Network Associate credential can be very difficult and time-consuming to attain. It is valid for three years after you earn it. Recertifying by passing the 200-301 CCNA exam will allow you to recertify. However, it is better to recertify through an advanced professional exam that will increase your job prospects and keep your CCNA certification.
SPOTO offers certifications that include CCNA exams. Contact us if your interest is in becoming CCNA-certified to further your I.T. career. career. Any questions you may have, we are happy to help.

This pattern will be followed by all the exams in the CCNP Enterprise. They will need to take the CCNP core exam, then work in the lab for eight hours. The CCIE can pursue a particular track and has a definite lab requirement. A complete list of CCIE has been updated: CCIE Enterprise wireless; CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure; CCIE Security; CCIE service provider; CCIE collaborator and CCIE DATA Center
Cisco also has a new program called DevNet. This program combines infrastructure and programming in Python. There are four levels to the DevNet track. These include Cisco-certified DevNet associates, Cisco-certified DevNet Specialists, DevNet Professionals, DevNet Professionals, and Cisco-certified DevNet Experts in CCIE.
