Update for the AWS Solutions Architect exam (SAA-C02)
AWS routinely adds new questions to its examinations, and as time goes on, more current services and features find their way into the AWS exam question bank. As a result, I consider it crucial as a teacher to periodically retake exams to determine what has changed and ensure that my courses are relevant and current.
It had been a while since my last attempt at the AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate (SAA-C02) test, so I recently gave it another go. I frequently hear stories that the question bank has undergone significant alteration and that several new services are currently undergoing testing.
This is somewhat true; just a small number of the questions were familiar to me from past tests (there was even a question I remember first seeing on the SAA-C01 exam).
You must be highly familiar with these services whenever you take your exam because they are essential to passing the AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate certification. What are the distinctions, then? Nothing particularly noteworthy, nothing brand-new to the exam, and nothing not already addressed in our course made an appearance. Of course, I can't reveal the specifics of the questions I was given, but I can give you some study advice based on what I observed.
Advice for learning
This is not a complete list of everything you should research. Naturally, the fundamental components mentioned above demand a great deal of attention, but bear in mind that this is only a list of some of the services and features that, in my opinion, are now receiving a lot of attention (this is collated from not just my experience but feedback from thousands of my students).
There are many questions, but they are all simple. Make sure you are familiar with the various storage gateway kinds, including volume, file, and tape, and know when to deploy each type and how to do so (general architecture). You'll succeed if you understand the fundamentals of each form of storage gateway.
Scheduled scaling policies for ASG have been a frequent topic of discussion in the SAA-C01 and SAA-C02 editions of the exam for quite some time. All you need to do to succeed is make sure you know when to apply each ASG scaling policy.
EC2/ECS IAM roles - Know when to utilize functions, why it's a good security practice, and how to implement them with the least privilege.
Understand the use cases, advantages, and deployment models for AWS Direct Connect (DX)/Transit Gateway. Additionally, ensure you know how to use encryption over a DX connection.
AWS DataSync: AWS likes to test your understanding of how to migrate into AWS, so be sure you know all of the options you have available. This contains SMS, DMS, Snowball, DataSync, and Snowball.
Understanding the benefits (serverless, elastic), use cases (streaming data), and deployment options for Kinesis Data Streams (e.g., where data can be loaded to, processed, analyzed, etc.)
AWS is concerned that it is taken into account in security architectures. Ensure you comprehend what it accomplishes and how to use it (what services it integrates with, e.g., CloudFront, ALB, API Gateway). Nowadays, several AWS Certification tests include questions about AWS WAF or the AWS Web Application Firewall (WAF).
Another hot topic on the SAA-C02 is Amazon FSX! When using FSx (Lustre and FSx for Windows File Server), understand the many settings, when to use it, and where data is loaded.
MFA delete: Simple, yet frequently used. It would help if you comprehended the benefits of using MFA delete (to prevent S3 objects from being accidentally deleted) and the steps necessary to put it into practice (versioning).
Additionally, Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) was mentioned in one query. The only surprise is that I haven't heard about it in a while. In that situation, be aware of the services you might utilize to avoid being cloud-dependent.
Training for AWS Certification
Everything you need to know to pass the AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate (SAA-C02) exam is included in our AWS training package, which consists of a video course, practice exams, and cheats sheets. Every week, numerous students succeed on this test.

What were the AZ-303/304 tests were
The AZ-303 and AZ-304
Although the subjects covered in the two tests are relatively similar, you must understand their various facets. The AZ-303 test focuses more on technical limits and how to put up something. For instance, you must be able to use the Azure CLI and Azure PowerShell modules to create a VNet, add VMs, and then enable VNet peering. Additionally, you need to understand what database sizes are compatible with the various Azure SQL options and which VM Skus to utilize for which applications.
The AZ-304 emphasizes which service you ought to choose when developing a solution. You need to know, for instance, whether to implement the requirements using Azure Front Door or Azure Traffic Manager. Although writing code is typically not required, be ready to grasp at least the most fundamental instructions.
I began with the AZ-304 because it better aligned with my professional background and piqued my curiosity. I was confident I would pass the test because I received an 880 out of 1000. Then I began preparing for the AZ-304, which was significantly more difficult for me than I had anticipated due primarily to my lack of experience with Azure PowerShell. I typically use Azure CLI. However, the exam requires you to be knowledgeable about all available technologies. I had some trepidation about passing the exam, but to my surprise, I breezed through it and received a score of 930 out of 1000.
Passing the test
There are two ways to take the test: in a legitimate testing facility or at home. You can choose whatever option gives you identical exams, as both are available. I've previously taken tests in person, but for the AZ-303 and AZ-304, I opted to take the online version.
The exam lasts 130 minutes; however, allow three hours to account for the ID check and specific Microsoft survey questions. This gives you plenty of time to review your responses. I completed both exams in less than an hour.
I had 48 questions on the AZ-303 exam and 62 on the AZ-304 exam. The number of questions should fall somewhere in that range. A score of at least 700 out of 1000 is required to pass. Remember that Microsoft employs a dynamic scoring system; thus, 700 out of 1000 does not equate to 70%.
After passing both examinations, you receive the Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification and badge.
Examining in a testing facility
A few years ago, I took a test at a testing facility, which wasn't the most enjoyable experience. You must visit their location, confirm your identity, and bring a valid ID. You must deposit all your possessions, including your wallet, phone, and watch, in a locker before being led into a room with many computers to take your exam. Working with the mouse at my exam facility, which was from the 1990s, was extremely difficult. Although I didn't feel at ease there, there was nothing wrong with taking the test in a testing facility.
Online exam taking
I took both examinations online because there were no testing facilities in my area due to the pandemic. It would help if you had a strong internet connection, a webcam, and a microphone to take the examinations from home. Headphones are not permitted, though.
I found it much more comfortable to take the exam at home. You can use your computer, mouse, keyboard, and chair—all of which you are already accustomed to—instead of traveling there. Thirty minutes before the exam is planned, check-in begins. You need to snap a photo of your ID and yourself after clicking a link you receive on your phone. After taking four pictures of your surroundings, you will be added to the waiting list. A proctor will contact you via voice mail or chat a short while later. They may ask you some questions, such as asking you to show them your workstation. The official exam then starts after they have started the exam for you.
As soon as the exam is over, you will find your score and how you performed in each section.
Challenge of the Exam
I was shocked by how challenging the questions were when I took the practice examinations. It's crucial to concentrate on the question and read it verbatim. Sometimes the answer to a question can be altered by only one word. In my exam, there were two questions for which I had no idea what the answer was. Take a deep breath and attempt to rule out any erroneous replies in this circumstance. There are frequently one or two incorrect replies, leaving you with just two options. If you're still unsure, venture a guess. For incorrect responses, you don't lose any points. Never fail to respond to a question!
I was far more at ease taking the AZ-304 practice exams than the AZ-303 ones. The AZ-303 exam, strangely enough, felt simpler than the AZ-304 exam. I suppose that my questions there were a little bit fortunate.
Conclusion
The AZ-303/304 Exam certification will still be necessary as long as businesses continue to use this technology and federal government agencies cooperate with Microsoft. The time and effort invested in earning an AZ certification will pay off in the long run by providing opportunities for both short- and long-term success with more thorough AZ-303/304 training. Microsoft has demonstrated numerous significant advancements in its certifications and is still doing so. Since they must adapt to the most recent trends and innovations, people will always learn the most from this.
First, there are 40–60 questions on the AZ-303 and AZ-304 tests. The candidate must maintain high precision and speed.
In addition, candidates may encounter other AZ-303 test question categories in the exams, such as scenario-based single-response questions, multiple-choice questions, arranged in the correct sequence questions, drag & drop questions, mark review, drag, and fall, etc.
In addition, the candidate must obtain a 700 or higher score on the test to succeed. Therefore, it is crucial to have all study materials available to acquire this Microsoft AZ-303 exam passing score.
Additionally, these tests are offered in English, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified), and Korean.
Additionally, the exam costs USD 165.
Comparing the course descriptions
Now let's contrast the AZ-303 and AZ-304 course outlines. We may argue that both tests have certain things in common, yet they differ significantly. Regarding the AZ-303, it includes VMs for Windows and Linux as well as Implementing storage accounts. Azure Active Directory, virtual networking, container-based applications, managing hybrid identities, workloads in Azure, application security, etc. On the other hand, if we look at AZ-304, it includes a solution for single-sign-on, authentication, Conditional Access, including multi-factor authentication, user self-service, Azure Policy, database scalability, encrypting data while it is in use, transmission, and rest, as well as site recovery network, capacity, geo-redundancy of workloads, autoscaling, etc.
The main distinction between the AZ-303 and AZ-304 exams
First, the Microsoft Exam AZ-303 asks questions about how to use technologies, whereas the AZ-304 asks whether technology is most suited for a particular situation. The main point of differentiation is that the AZ-304 test is based on questions built around customer requirements, while the AZ-303 exam is based on technical operations and their implementations. Additionally, the variations between the two exams can occasionally be slight.
Additionally, the Microsft AZ-304 test emphasizes identifying business requirements utilizing practical examples, limitations, and business objectives and choosing solution implementations depending on an organization's needs. As opposed to the AZ-303 test, which concentrates on ensuring that those solutions are correctly designed, installed, or migrated.
Conclusion
As long as companies continue to use this technology and as long as federal government agencies continue to work with Microsoft, the AZ-303/304 Exam certification will still be required. One of the most well-known technology companies in the world is Microsoft, an American global corporation. Microsoft continues to be a market leader, dominating the operating system (OS) and business server markets globally. While many consumers may not be familiar with Azure, Microsoft Server, or SQL Server, they undoubtedly are with Windows and the programs in the Microsoft Office suite. Applications like Word, Excel and PowerPoint are so widely used that we take them for granted. Earning Microsoft certifications like MCSA is a good idea for IT workers because it will help them in their daily work and raise their earning potential.
But which certification is the most valuable?
Microsoft recently secured the $10 billion JEDI contract from the Pentagon, as the New York Times reported, and it is expanding into more generalized industry markets. This multi-year, multifaceted cloud computing project will need a range of IT know-how, including qualified experts from Windows Server 2016. You should unquestionably enroll in the MCSA Windows Server 2016 course.
Take the MCSA exam to become a Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate.
To start learning about Windows Server 2016, pick a track: MCSA, or MCE, stands for Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSE). Even though both give crucial product information, the MCSA is set up as an entry-level certification and is a prerequisite for obtaining MCSE certification. If you are starting with Windows Server and want the quickest route to certification, it is advisable to begin with, MCSA certification.
Getting ready for your MCSA certification
There are five approaches to MCSA certification:
Infrastructure pillars Productivity
Business Applications Data Management and Analytics App Builder
Three courses and three tests are needed to apply for the MCSA Windows Server 2016 certification:
20740 — Windows Server 2016 Installation, Storage, and Compute 20741 — Windows Server 2016 Networking 20742 — Windows Server 2016 Identity
Candidates must pass each test with a score of 700 or higher and recertify regularly. Even if thorough preparation is not required to sit for or pass these exams, certification training packages that offer expert advice, comprehensive course materials, test vouchers for each class, and access to experiential learning opportunities should be considered. This lowers the overall cost of taking each course and exam personally and the likelihood of passing the MCSA certification examination.
MCSA certification for employment
Businesses are employing Windows Server 2016 more frequently than ever, as was already mentioned. In light of recent government partnerships, it is evident that the need for MCSA Server 2016 training will increase as businesses look to take advantage of new opportunities. How does this affect your prospects for employment? MCSA Windows Server 2016 certified professionals can also work as:
Engineers working in network operations centers
An expert who monitors large computer networks and servers for issues from a centralized location or by satellite is known as a NOC (network operation center) engineer. A NOC, or network operations center, must have the following skills: network administration, network support, maintenance, switching, and routing.
administrators of systems
System administrators must regularly maintain, update, and configure business computer systems. They create wide-area networks (WANs) and local area networks (LANs) to connect computer groups (WANs) digitally. The goal of the system administrator is to keep the systems under their control to satisfy the users' requirements for uptime, productivity, cost, and security while staying below a set spending limit.
Analysis of systems
Are servers operating as they should? Systems analysts take advantage of Server 2016's comprehensive knowledge to optimize operations. Exist any strategies for enhancing productivity overall, reducing latency, or introducing new solutions?
auxiliary engineers
When Windows Server 2016 systems develop issues, businesses don't have time to wait for outside support. The first-line professionals tasked with ensuring servers operate as intended and resolving problems when they occur called support engineers.
Conclusion
MCSA Windows Server 2016 certification is still crucial as businesses continue to rely on this technology and as federal government organizations bolster their relationships with Microsoft. The time and effort invested in earning an MCSA certification will pay off in the long run by opening up prospects for short-term and long-term success with more in-depth MCSE training. The AZ-104: Is It Worth It?
Microsoft Azure is used by organizations worldwide, from large multinational firms to small local businesses. Despite their enormous differences, companies that use Azure have one thing in common: they all require IT staff to ensure that Azure functions correctly. Microsoft offers the AZ-104 exam to demonstrate whether or not an administrator is qualified to administer all of Azure's features. Completing it grants an administrator the associate-level Azure certification from Microsoft.
An Azure administrator's primary responsibility is to maintain the proper operation of a company's overall Azure environment. For that, it's necessary to manage users, set up storage, set up computing resources, and keep an eye on virtual networking resources. The AZ-104 evaluates an administrator's aptitude and expertise in all these duties. Continue reading to find out if the AZ-104 is worth your time, money, and effort.
Describe the AZ-104.
The associate-level Azure certification from Microsoft is earned by passing the AZ-104 exam. The AZ-104 assesses an administrator's capacity to set up, oversee, and manage a whole Azure installation. The full names of the certificate and the exam are "Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate" and "Exam AZ-104: Microsoft Azure Administrator," respectively.
Azure Administrator Associate isn't the most basic qualification Microsoft offers in Azure management. For IT professionals just starting with Azure, the entry-level certification is Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals. The intermediate-level certifications AZ-104 and Azure Administrator Associate are both available.
Numerous more Azure certifications concentrate on particular skills, such as managing Identity and Access or operating the Azure Stack Hub. The AZ-104 certification, in contrast to those more focused ones, covers a wide range of administrative Azure expertise. A person who has earned their Azure Administrator Associate certification is equipped to contribute in any capacity to an Azure administration team. The AZ-104 assesses whether an administrator is prepared for managing Azure identities, configuring storage, deploying Azure compute resources, implementing virtual networking, and backing up Azure resources. A team of Azure administrators has many different responsibilities for a company's Azure environment.
What are the objectives of the AZ-104 exam?
The AZ-104 exam is the sole requirement for the Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate credential. The AZ-104 test has five goals:
Control identities and governance in Azure.
Organize and implement storage
Manage and deploy Azure computing resources.
Set up and control virtual networking
tracking and archiving Azure resources
The goal of AZ-104 is to determine whether an IT expert can assume the job of an Azure administrator and be proficient from day one, even though each of those broad categories can devolve into extremely precise minutiae.
What Is the Price of the AZ-104 Exam?
It costs $165 to take the AZ-104. The only test required to obtain the Azure Administrator Associate certification is the AZ-104, which costs $165. There are no prerequisites. The expense of instruction, courses, and even books should be considered because most people wouldn't do well taking the test without enough preparation.
This is a limited-time deal. You might be qualified to take the test for free if the COVID-19 epidemic directly impacted your capacity to hold down a job or be recruited. You can find additional details on Microsoft's AZ-104 website.
What is prior knowledge required for the AZ-104?
Since there is no formal requirement for the AZ-104, you can theoretically take it whenever you want. However, it's crucial to remember what the certification assesses: whether or not an administrator can contribute to an Azure administration team. Azure administrators frequently participate in groups where they are required to have various skills. Microsoft promises employers that a person possessing this qualification can do any associate-level administration or maintenance activity on their Azure installations.
Microsoft advises not taking the AZ-104 until you have at least six months of experience with Azure. You will ensure that you have a solid understanding of the underlying Azure services as well as the Azure workloads, security, and governance you'll be working with by getting hands-on experience with all aspects of managing Azure. In addition, you should be familiar with how to use the Azure portal and command line interface.
Ones who ought to take the AZ-104
System administrators, network administrators, and emerging IT professionals ought to give the AZ-104 exam much consideration. By bypassing the AZ-104, you can show prospective employers and supervisors that you are prepared to work with Azure if it is something you aspire to or plan to do in your career.
The AZ-104: Is It Worth It?
The AZ-104 is well worth the time, effort, and expense for young IT workers who wish to obtain a certification that will provide them with a strong foundation in fundamental administration skills. Employers and managers oversee administrative teams like the assurance of choosing a candidate who has passed the Microsoft Azure administration fundamentals certification.
Additionally, passing the AZ-104 exam after studying for it might lead to employment in various IT industries. You might get a taste of several topics, from more sophisticated network administration to virtualization engineering, from the work you put in to obtain the AZ-104.
