CCIE Lab Examination "An overview"

CCIE lab examination would be consisting of 8 hours practical examination which would be validating the real skills and knowledge of a candidate. Yes, it would be an eight-hours long examination. You needn’t have to give an examination continuously for eight hours. You would gain a break in the middle of the examination. The time for the break or meal would be announced by the proctor in advance.

When you could go for the CCIE Lab exam?

Post completion of your CCIE written examination, you would be needed to schedule your Cisco Lab exam. You must pass the CCIE Lab exam within three years of completing the CCIE written exam. One more point to take care, you need to give the first attempt within 18 months of clearing the Cisco CCIE written exam.

How to find the nearest Cisco CCIE Lab exam location?

Not many Cisco CCIE Lab exam locations are available all around the world. There would be only 9 Cisco lab exam centers would be available all around the world. Thus, you are required to cross your boundaries as well as travel to the nearest CCIE lab exam location. You might be shocked to know that there would be only one CCIE lab exam center in India.

CCIE Lab Exam Cost or Fee

Cisco CCIE lab exam fee or cost would be about USD 1600 for every attempt. Yes, if you fail to clear the lab exam in the first attempt, then you are required to again pay the CCIE lab exam fee for undertaking the examination. And this would be the revised fee which has been rolled out recently by Cisco.

How Much Time does it take to clear CCIE?

It Depends. If you know let's say CCNP level and now you want to start preparing for CCIE R&S, then it will take a minimum of 6 months for you to become CCIE. Now it all depends upon the number of hours you have invested in a practice. If you are ready to put your 100% into it, then it would be required to take 6 months. I have seen people trying to achieve their CCIE from the last 2–3 years and still not able to achieve it. Some have failed a couple of times or more, as well as even some, haven’t yet appeared even after 2 or 3 years of preparation.

You don’t become a CCIE just by cramming dumps and passing the exams. You become CCIE by learning those technologies and being able to deploy that knowledge in the industry and by solving L3 problems. I would have seen some people becoming CCIE by clearing the exams and not able to solve L1 tickets. That Certification is useless for them.
