The Quick Reference Guide to Prepare for the CCIE Lab Exam
images

Preparing for the CCIE lab exam can be a daunting and daunting experience, especially for those who take the CCIE exam for the first time. In addition to the obvious study for the exam, know what to expect is a major aspect of the preparation process. In some previous SPOTO blogs, we talked about what happened after entering the lab, the misunderstanding of laboratory exams, and the changes we made to improve the tester’s lab. In this blog, we will focus on the logical order of your laboratory test experience, including understanding the necessary strategies, preparation skills, and test dates.

Know the Rules:

Understanding Cisco's policies will prevent you from losing your exams in any way and making clear your expectations of behavior when you arrive in the lab.

Rights and responsibilities of candidates-understand your NDA and all Cisco code of conduct policies.

Laboratory policy-CCIE laboratory candidates may be familiar with certain policies, such as the absence of unauthorized materials-do not bring anything (including external reference materials) into or out of the inspection room when conducting active testing. You can store personal items such as wallets, wallets and mobile phones in the designated area, but no items are allowed in the test area. We will provide you with everything you need for the exam.

Do not consult or consult with examiners before, during or after the exam. During the exam, you can discuss your exam only with the laboratory examiner.

Payment Due Date-Full payment must be received at least 90 days prior to the date of the laboratory test. If no payment is received before the deadline, your test will be automatically removed from the plan and Cisco will not be responsible.

Visa requirements-if the laboratory of your choice is outside your country, you must meet the visa requirements of the country in order to take your laboratory exam. We strongly recommend that you study and understand visa requirements before booking laboratory exams and apply for any required visas at least 10 to 12 weeks before the date of the experiment.

Cancellation policy-if you want to reschedule or cancel exams, you must log on to the lab planning tool and abandon the current lab. You can then reschedule according to the preferred date or place. If you make a payment on the day of the reservation, you can book less than 90 days of the exam. If you need to cancel the exam before the cancellation date (91 days before the experimental data) and pass the liquidated wire transfer payment, you are eligible to request a full refund through the certified online support tool.

Prepare Ahead:

First-time and experienced candidates are usually nervous about entering the lab. Preparing for the exam helps to eliminate unnecessary delay or anxiety.

Hotel and local test information-study your hotel, surrounding areas and the time it takes to arrive at the lab. Some laboratories are within walking range of the hotel but plan whether to walk, drive or take a taxi to make sure you arrive on time. The exam can start at 7: 00 a.m. local time, and those who are late will not have extra time. If you are more than two hours late for the exam, you will not be able to do the test, marked "not shown" and forfeited the exam fee. If you check out before the exam, please consider leaving your luggage in the concierge department. Luggage is not allowed in the test area, but Cisco can store luggage if available.

It’s a comfortable-no business dress. The test can last for up to 8 hours, and you’d like to stay comfortable during this time.

The right diet may sound like common sense, but you should start your morning from normal breakfast. Many candidates underestimate the strength of the test and fail to eat correctly before the test is an unnecessary distraction. Similarly, the examination can last up to 8 hours, which is a complete working day. So think about eating something you usually eat before work. You won’t have to leave for dinner until your lunchtime is scheduled with the whole group. So, eat well before the test, but be careful not to go beyond normal procedures, so that you don’t take the exam because of stomach discomfort. Bring proper identification - Two forms of ID are required.  A driver’s license or passport are both adequate but any identification presented must have your signature and one must be government-issued with a photo.

Understand the Lab Environment:

When you arrive, you will quickly learn about exam expectations, instructions for experimental materials, and an overview of the role of examiners during the exam. Lunch will be served for you. Briefings and lunch breaks are not included in the time allocated to the exam. You can rest at any time as needed, but the clock will not stop during these breaks.

Your invigilator is ready to help you. They can help clarify the questions related to the subject of the exam and the content of the questions. However, they cannot confirm that you have configured something correctly. Candidates must think of themselves as candidates, not students with teachers who can tell them how to finish their homework. The expectation is that the examinee has the working knowledge and understanding of the skills needed to complete the exam.

All laboratory exams are pre-configured and tested to prevent technical problems with equipment or configuration. However, in very few cases, hardware, software, or network-related problems may have technical problems; it is time to notify your invigilator immediately, rather than wasting valuable time trying to fix it on your own. If you do have a problem with the test equipment provided, take more than ten minutes to solve the problem before reporting it to your laboratory inspector. As a best practice, we recommend that you save the configuration often. Once the invigilator determines whether you can continue the exam, they will extend the lab session for the same time, or if the problem is expected to take more than two hours, you will be provided with rescheduling the exam by opening the support case.
