I am writing this article for two purposes.
1-to provide you with my experience at the Cisco CCIE LAB Center so that people can choose the best choice on the CCIE journey.
2-asking any other examination center that does not have the following questions so that I can try next time.
I had three attempts for CCIEv5, my experience as follows
In 2019, I opened my first CCIEV5 lab in Dubai, in January and the second on March 15, the same year. I didn’t add anything to me twice, so I don’t think they’re okay.
Dubai computers are so slow that they can easily cause you to be nervous. Imagine you’re doing a CCIE lab behind a team viewer session, and team viewers are actually much faster than their systems. The problem is not just waiting, if you need to zoom in to the link or text level, you will spend years until you reach the correct zoom and position, and then you wait for more to refresh the screen to reflect the new changes in the picture, many times it will end in the wrong proportion or position, and then you will have to repeat the whole process, which will easily take 20 seconds. The same is true when you need to scroll up / on text pages, some pages do not jump links quickly, so you must carefully drag the mouse cursor where you think the problem is, and then you will see huge text ripples back and forth for a while, you don’t know when it will be completed, and then you have to read a lot to know if it falls into the paragraph you want! I tested, I pressed the "up / down" button a few times, it took seven seconds to get to the destination, and the screen was fully updated. Typing is also a big deal in such an environment, if you want to choose a text, or if you have a wrong word and want to move to a character, you must burn your eyes and position the character accurately so that you don’t miss it or bypass it, which is very easy to happen in that delay, otherwise you have to repeat the process again and let go of it for a few more seconds!
There are other problems in Dubai, such as invigilators, colored pencils are not fully prepared and sharpened twice, and none of the pens are working in the final attempt. I had to take the time to grind a few pens myself in the invigilator’s office, and I showed the invigilator a slow question and a second question, in which the text on the chart was unclear until you magnified it too much, and he had no other reply: "since you have no one complaining, it must be all right!"
There was actually another attempt in Dubai, but I couldn’t get to Dubai because a few hours before the flight, I found that my visa had been revoked, and after contacting the authorities, it seemed that they had another unspecified factor for overtime visas, and no one would refund them! So I strongly recommend that non-Europeans or Americans ask Visa to enter Dubai not to do so, their visa system is not trustworthy, especially long-term preparations and important trips, such as CCIE Labs, I will elaborate on any requirements.
After all, I put Mark X in Dubai, where I shouldn’t try anything else.
After giving yourself a period of time, Brussels or the United States (RTP or SJC) decides. I chose SJC because I’ve tried RTP before and they have delays. SJC has the largest Cisco headquarters, yes, my bet is right, my attempt was a week ago, their computers were very fast compared to Dubai or any other CCIE lab center. I’ve tried it a little bit, but it’s not the one that worries you, it’s most likely to have RDP sessions in the local area network, although I failed. But I felt very comfortable during the exam. But I think the exam really reflects my skills, and I think I can improve in this case. I have a question here if anyone tried in Brussels, is it the same as I mentioned about SJC or is there a delay in their computers?
I am asking because SJC has two problems for me, the trip from the middle east to SJC is more expensive than the exam and very long, the shortest one is 23:15 hours and no direct flights, which make me tired.
