Recertification
The CCIE Routing and Switching certification are valid for two years from the date the certification is earned. Learners recertify by passing the recertification exam. If the recertification exam is not completed in a timely manner, learners risk losing their CCIE certification and benefits associated with the status. Plus, if a learner does not reinstate his/her CCIE status within one year of becoming inactive, he/she will be required to complete the full certification process again from the beginning (written and lab exams).
