Introduction

So you have decided that the CCNA certification would be the correct path for you. The next step, even before you would have to begin to study, is to understand what would be required of you to get CCNA-certified. Therefore, in this article, we would be looking at the CCNA certification exam in detail. Before we continue, I would like to suggest that if you wish to have clear the CCNA certification in a single attempt, you could gain the courses, which are being offered at the SPOTO Club.

I would also like to point out that there would be two ways to become CCNA-certified:

1.    You could either pass one exam – CCNA Composite

2.    Or you could pass two exams – ICND1 and ICND2.

People have different lots of ideas about which route to take. If you don’t have any networking experience, you are required to \take the step-by-step approach: ICND1 and then ICND2. However, if you do have certain experience in networking or you wish to recertify, you could go for the CCNA Composite exam, which is considered to be more advanced and more challenging than the individual exams.

On the other hand, it might be much more time-saving for the preparation for only one exam rather than two individual exams. If your will is considered to be strong enough, and if you perhaps have a time constraint, perhaps you would be considered going for the CCNA Composite exam all in one go.

How Many Questions would be there the CCNA Certification Exam? How Long Do You Have to Complete the Exam?

The CCNA certification exam is considered to be of 90-minute with about 60 and 70 questions. This means that you would have roughly 1 minute and 30 seconds for each question. However, as with any exam, some questions would be quite more challenging and you would be required more time than others. So, while you should take your time for reading all the questions carefully, be aware that the time is running.

One exam trick is utilized by many people, which is to go for low-hanging fruit, i.e., answer questions that would be easily solved and then go back to the more challenging questions. Unfortunately, this trick couldn’t be used in Cisco certification exams because, once you click on the Next button for advancing to the next question, you won’t be able to go back to previous questions.

What Score Do I Need to Pass?

According to Cisco, passing scores aren’t published because “exam questions, as well as passing scores, would be considered as subject to change without notice.” What this means is that you couldn’t be sure of the passing score until you have got it into the exam hall. However, based on research, the passing score is considered to be usually between 800 and 850 out of a maximum of 1000. In terms of how the exam is scored, Cisco utilized a point scaling system, on a scale of 300 to 1000. So once you would have started the exam, you automatically have 300 points, as well as you, answer questions correctly, your points would be increased. Of course, the fact that you wouldn’t know how questions are going to weight means that you should try your best for answering as many questions correctly as possible.

How Long Do I Have to Wait If I Don’t Pass the First time?

The plan is to write an examination as well as clear it on the first try. However, life sometimes happens. In the case where a candidate might fail the CCNA certification exam, that candidate would have to wait at least 5 days, counting from the day after the failed exam, to retake that same exam.

Hence, if you wish to have clear the exam in a single attempt, you are required to join a good and reliable training course, like offered at the SPOTO Club.
