Cisco has proclaimed inclusive amendments to the complete career certification on June 10th, 2019, with exams, lots and lots of exams along with new certifications and new rules and everything new with planned availability by February 2020. Yes, it also shocked me for a while. And trust me the best thing for you would be to opt for the taking the Cisco Certification before these changes occur to you. Also, you should opt for good prep courses, which you could gain at the SPOTO Club, as you’ll have less time to do self-study.
In this post, I am going to tell you why it would be good to take the Cisco Certification Exams, before the changes hits.
Quick Context
Suppose you are pursuing CCNA R&S (or CCENT) when Cisco announced their shocking changes of Cisco career certifications on June 10, 2019, then this post is just for you. We would assume that you are going with the CCNA R&S Certification.
Passing with Old Exams
Keep studying, passing the existing exams, which in this case would be100-105, 200-105, 200-125, would gain your CCNA R&S before Feb 2020, and you would be still having a Cisco CCNA Certification after the transition. Cisco will have a transition app which will help you to walk you through what you’ll have in terms of certifications after the transition. However, if you have CCNA R&S before Feb 2020, you would be able to have a CCNA certification afterward.
Additionally, you would be also potentially gaining something new called badges which would be related to courses you might have taken and/or exams passed. Point is that you lose nothing by clearing the old CCNA R&S and shouldn’t lose out on new credentials. You will be giving an exam, which you are familiar with and also, of which you could gain the study dumps, from a reliable source, like the SPOTO Club, to ease your study process.
More Exam Options Today vs. Future CCNA
The announcement does make this noticeable change to CCNA R&S: The 2-exam path to CCNA R&S would be disappearing. Currently, you would be able to take or pass the ICND1 100-105 and ICND2 200-105 exams to gain your CCNA R&S certification, or pass the CCNA 200-125 exam, either way. So, for those of you pursuing CCNA R&S now, you would be having more options today. Pick the one that would be suiting your preference. Note that having a one-exam path only for the new CCNA shouldn’t be a big barrier: the new CCNA is roughly 25% smaller than the old CCNA R&S by the best objective measurements I could make. Thus, you should give this exam, which you are familiar with, either to go for an unknown exam.
So Pass Now or Wait?
You could choose to keep marching towards CCNA R&S, planning to clear by February 2020. You could even study now to clear the new exam. But I don’t see any downside which would be related to the Cisco program changes for studying for the existing CCNA. Maybe you would be seeing the changes differently, so you should feel free to go for the Exam before you the changes occur. So, if you wish to have a Cisco Certification, the time is now, and before you would be pursuing it, I would recommend you to gain the Study Courses, which would be offered by some good and reputed training providers like the SPOTO Club.
