Should I Bail on ROUTE, SWITCH, and TSHOOT in Favor of 300-401?

So far, you have heard that the current three forms of (CCNP) certification for Cisco Certified Network Professionals and the prerequisites for Cisco Certified Network Association (CCNA) are retiring. The last day to obtain a CCNP certificate using the current exam track is February 23, 2020. On February 24, 2020, the current repertoire is being replaced by two exams without prerequisites. The new certificate is called CCNP Enterprise.

The CCNP Enterprise certificate requires candidates to pass the core exam numbered 300-401 and any of the following centralized exams:

· Implementing Cisco Enterprise Advanced Routing and Services (ENARSI) 300-410

· Implementing Cisco SD-WAN Solutions (ENSDWI) 300-415

· Designing Cisco Enterprise Networks (ENSLD) 300-420

· Designing Cisco Enterprise Wireless Networks (ENWLSD) 300-425

· Implementing Cisco Enterprise Wireless Networks (ENWLSI) 300-430

· Automating and Programming Cisco Enterprise Solutions (ENAUTO) 300-435

Notably, this new track is that CCNP Wireless and CCDP are now concentrated on Enterprise, rather than separate credentials.

However, until February 24, in addition to passing the 300-101 ROUTE test, the 300-115 SWITCH test and the 300-135 TSHOOT test, Cisco also asked you to get the CCNP routing and exchange vouchers. in addition, you can obtain ccnp wireless credentials or cisco certified design professionals (CCDP) credentials by obtaining ccnp routing and exchange credentials, followed by appropriate centralized examinations.

Most CCNP candidates take exams continuously over time. For example, you can choose to start taking the 300-101 ROUTE exam as soon as you get the CCNA certificate. After you take and pass the ROUTE exam, you can continue to study and take the SWITCH exam. After passing the SWITCH exam, you can choose to study and pass the TSHOOT exam to complete your certification. In other words, it takes time to get CCNP credentials on an existing track.

If you’ve spent a lot of time and money to study the current form of CCNP routing and exchange credentials, you may want to know if you waste all the time and money. They haven’t yet. Cisco has implemented a migration policy for a candidate who has already invested in an existing test track. As a result, Cisco’s proposal for an existing candidate is to continue working on the current track to get your credentials. At the time of writing this article, you have more than six months to complete the certificate. For CCNP routing and switching, each test requires at least two months of study time. If you have passed one or two CCNP routing and translation exams, you have more time to learn any remaining exams that you have to attend. In addition, even if you miss the cut-off date of February 23, 2020, you can get new credentials better.

If you’re just beginning to learn the first CCNP exam when the conversion date comes, there are two possible outcomes waiting for you:

1. You completed only one or two exams on the existing track.

2. You completed the entire track and gained your CCNP Routing and Switching credential.

If you complete the entire CCNP routing and switching track, congratulations, your new CCNP certificate will automatically become a new CCNP Enterprise certificate on February 24. In addition, you will have two expert credentials: Cisco Certified Professional-Enterprise Core and Cisco Certified Professional-Enterprise Advanced Infrastructure Implementation. You won’t have to take part in any other exam to get a new certificate, but you need to re-authenticate every three years by submitting your continuing education credits or participating in the qualifying exam.

If you cannot complete the entire routing and switching track by 24 February, there are several possible results. For convenience, these results are broken down as follows:

In other words, if you have only completed the 300-101 route exam or just completed the 300-115 SWITCH exam, you will need to take the 300-401 exam and select a centralized test from the six lists to complete your certificate. However, if you try to receive and pass ROUTE and SWITCH by 24 February, you will automatically get the Cisco Certified Professional-Enterprise Core Certificate. The expert-enterprise core certificate means that you only need to take part in one of the six new centralized exams to complete the CCNP Enterprise Core.

If you take part and pass the TSHOT exam by February 24, 2020, you will still need a ROUTE or SWITCH, and you will get the Cisco Certified Professional-Enterprise Advanced Infrastructure Implementation Certificate. On or after February 24, 2020, you will only need to take part in and pass the core exam 300-401 to obtain the CCNP Enterprise certificate.

Confusing? Yes. To simplify the operation, Cisco has created a Web-based migration tool that allows you to specify exams to be passed on an existing track and then tells you that you need to pass a new track to complete your credentials. CCNP wireless credentials and CCDP credentials have similar migration tools. If you successfully obtain CCNP Wireless, by February 24, you will receive new CCNP Enterprise credentials and three wireless expert credentials. If you successfully obtain CCDP, by February 24, you will receive new CCNP Enterprise credentials and two design expert certificates.

Using the above information, even if you start the process before February 24, you can theoretically obtain your CCNP certificate through two exams. If you attend and pass the TSHOT (300-135) exam by 24 February, then pass the ENCOR (300-401) exam on February 24 and you will receive the CCNP Enterprise certificate. It is risky, however, to play in this way, as it is now possible to provide a wide range of learning materials for all three CCNP routing and exchange exams. CCNP Enterprise does not have any content.

Regardless of the test path, if you have started developing a CCNP certificate, you should stick with it. Placing all the money you’ve invested while waiting for conversion only increases the amount and time you spend.
