Following Cisco’s announcement that the exam tracks for its entire line of certifications are going to change in the year 2020, you might have heard talk of migrations as well as the bandying about of the term Cisco Certified Specialist. So, what actually is a Cisco Certified Specialist credential? How would you get one? Why would you need one?

The answer is quite simple; a Cisco Certified Specialist credential would be proving that you have cleared what is known as a Cisco concentration exam. Concentration exams are Cisco exams which would be narrowly focusing on a specific Cisco topic or technology that would be related to but doesn’t complete a core certification. I would recommend you to get enrolled with the courses offered by the reliable training provider, like the SPOTO CLUB.

The new CCNP certification exam Enterprise track, Cisco Certified Specialist credentials would also be considered to be beneficial in that you could obtain them by taking as well as passing exams on the current Cisco exam tracks. That would be meaning that you could utilize the existing exam track to work toward core certification on the new tracks even if you haven’t completed the CCNP credential you would be working toward on the current track.

As for example, if you have taken and cleared the CCNP TSHOOT (300-135) on the existing track but haven’t completed the certification track, you would be earning the Cisco Certified Specialist – Enterprise Advanced Infrastructure Implementation credential. Having obtained this credential, you would be needed only take the CCNP ENCOR exam on or after Feb. 24, 2020, for adding the Cisco Certified Specialist – Enterprise Core credential, thereby completing the CCNP Enterprise track.

However, Cisco’s advice for any current CCNP candidate would be facing the deadline of new exam track is to keep working toward your full CCNP credential on the current track. One advantageous aspect of completing your CCNP credential before the Feb. 24, 2020, deadline is that you would be able to earn both the core credential as well as more than one Cisco Certified Specialist credential along the way.

As for example, completing a CCNP Security credential before Feb. 24, 2020, would be earning you the core credential as well as no less than five Cisco Certified Specialist credentials. On the other hand, if you would be able to clear a concentration exam now and then wait for Feb. 24, 2020, for taking the CCNP Security core exam; you would be receiving the track’s core credential as well as two Cisco Certified Specialist credentials: Cisco Certified Specialist – Security Core and the other one is Cisco Certified Specialist credentials for the concentration you passed.

Candidates who would be clearing the core exam, as well as one of the above exams, would be receiving the core certification as well as two Cisco Certified Specialist certifications, although you couldn’t obtain the core certification without also clearing a concentration exam.

In other words, after Feb. 24, if you clear the 300-701 SCOR exam and, for example, the 300-730 SVPN exam, you would be awarded the CCNP Security core track certification, a Cisco Certified Specialist – Security Core certification, as well as a Cisco Certified Specialist – Network Security VPN Implementation certification.

Similarly, if you would be clearing the core exam as well as 300-720 SESA, you would be receiving the track certification, the Cisco Certified Specialist – Security Core certification, and also a Cisco Certified Specialist – Email Content Security certification.

Hence, if you wish to pursue the CCNP Specialist Certification, you should gain the training courses offered by the SPOTO Club. They have a team of experts, who would be providing you the best training for various IT Certifications.
