If you feel more comfortable and experienced in networking, then the CCNP switch should be your first preference. Personally, I like to would attempt the CCNP ROUTE as the ROUTE will build into the CCNP SWITCH. CCNP ROUTE:
Description:
Cisco IP Routing or ROUTE 300-101 is a qualifying exam for the Cisco CCNP Routing and Switching and CCDP certifications. The ROUTE 300-101 exam is going to certify the routing skills and knowledge of successful candidates. They are certified in using routing in implementing scalable and advanced IP addressing and highly secure Cisco routers that are connected to LANs, WANs, and IPv6.
Pre-requisite:
You would be required the basic understanding of the concepts that were taught in ICND1/ICND2 or CCNA
Requirements:
• The Students, who are going to take this course, should have already passed the CCNA R/S certification before they attempt to take the CCNP.
• The Students, who should know that this course is one (1) of three (3) needed to pass and achieve the CCNP R/S certification.
• This course is going to use the CCNP Switch study guide which was made available from the Cisco Press, you could also use any CCNP Switch study guide can be used.

The CCNP is Cisco's Professional level certification and it is considered to be the next logical step for those who desire to advance their Networking Career within Cisco. This Course is going to cover everything necessary to prepare the student in order to pass the CCNP Switch 300-115 portion of the Cisco's certification exam.
Requirements:
You are needed to first hold a valid CCNA or any CCIE designation. Then you would have to pass three exams:
• Implementing Cisco IP Routing (ROUTE),
• Implementing Cisco IP Switched Networks (SWITCH), and
• Maintaining and Troubleshooting Cisco IP Networks (TSHOOT).
All of the Exams in these modules are about 2 hours and each of them will cost about $200 each.
