A regional finance program is impacted by a new currency regulation issued by a country in the region. The new regulation requires changes to the financial statements of that country's branches by the end of the fiscal year. Failing to comply with the regulation may result in fines and/or closure of the branches. A branch general manager immediately meets with the program manager to select and secure a local fiscal expert to support the regulation as these types of resources are in high demand. There is a high risk that the changes will not be completed on time if the resource is not secured. What should the program manager do to address the risk?
Reference answer
The program manager should immediately prioritize securing the local fiscal expert by initiating the procurement process, allocating budget, and expediting approvals to mitigate the risk of non-compliance. Additionally, the program manager should develop a contingency plan, such as identifying alternative resources or negotiating with the expert for a guaranteed commitment, and communicate the urgency to stakeholders to ensure timely completion of the changes.

16
How Can I Become an RCDD?
Reference answer
To become a Registered Communications Distribution Designer, you'll need an associate or bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, as well as five years' experience in information and communications technology (ICT). Entry-level positions with ICT companies are a great way to get your foot in the door so you can start building your experience. Preparing for the big exam involves familiarizing yourself with the Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) regulations and the Telecommunications Distribution Methods Manual (TDMM). Most RCDDs will spend hundreds of hours studying the TDMM and sit through numerous ICT fundamentals and design courses to prepare for the exam. Once you have completed your required courses and have gained relevant experience, you can apply for your RCDD certification. Becoming certified entails completing RCDD training courses and passing your exam.
17
Is the RCDD certification exam specific to any engineering discipline?
Reference answer
I'm electrical. The RCDD is neutral as far as engineering disciplines go. The information is essentially restricted to data and communications.
18
How should one prepare for the RCDD certification exam?
Reference answer
If you don't put in the 100+ hours studying the TDMM you won't pass. I went through the TDMM 11th edition twice....first time highlighting key items; second time culling out tidbits that I was having trouble with on sample tests. There are lots of practice tests, review classes, study aids, etc. for the RCDD. I took the BICSI exam review class the week before the test. I think it was a waste of time. As it turns out, the most valuable part of that review class was the time I spent in informal study groups at the hotel outside of class reviewing flash cards. I also took an online review course that allowed me to learn/test/review on a chapter by chapter basis that kept me moving and kept me focused.
