How to become CCNA certified?

You can become CCNA certified in two ways:

1. bypassing the CCNA 200-125 CCNA exam ($325).

2. by passing the ICND1 100-105 exam and ICND2 200-105 (165 $ each).

The CCNA 200-125 exam covers the topics from both ICND exams.

NOTE

If you pass the ICND1 exam, you will receive a certification called CCENT (Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician).

The CCNA 200-125 exam contains 60-70 questions. There are 45 questions in the ICND exam. The highest score you can get in any exam is 1000. The minimum passing score is about 830.

If you want to be CCNA certification holders, you should learn about the cumputer networks, network access, security fundamentals to give your IT career a hidher level.

Where to take the exam?

To participate in the CCNA exam, you must schedule a test appointment with the electronic test company Pearson VUE. The Pearson VUE has a number of authorized test centers around the world, and you can find a test center in the neighborhood.

The test is provided in English and Japanese and lasts for 90 minutes unless you are not the mother tongue of either of these two languages. In this case, you’ll get an extension of 30 minutes. Upon completion of the test, you will get the results immediately. Cisco only provides basic information about your scores, so you can’t determine which problems are right!

Preparing for the exam

There are several ways in which you can prepare yourself for the exam:

Attend CCENT or CCNA courses-Cisco courses are offered by a number of educational companies and institutions. You can use this online tool to find a college near you. These courses usually last for months and include many hands-on activities. The price varies depending on where you are, but the course can be very expensive (up to $1000).

Self-study through textbooks and online courses-another popular way to prepare for the CCENT exam is self-study. There are many high-quality resources and tools such as GNS3 or Packet Tracer online that allow you to learn without having to buy expensive devices. Of course, the site is one of these high-quality online resources: -). Many people use sites such as eBay or Amazon to find CCNA suites so that they can work on real devices

concentrated boot camps – intensive, week-long live classes that cover months of materials in just five days. Not recommended for beginners.

NOTE

You don’t need to attend a course academy in order to take the CCENT or CCNA exam.

Exam content

In the ICND1 exam, you may encounter questions about IP data network operations, LAN switching technology, IPv6, IP routing protocols, IP services such as DNS, DHCP, TFTP, and NTP, and basic troubleshooting. The ICND2 exam is expected to address the configuration and troubleshooting of STP, routing protocols, and QoS concepts. The CCNA exam includes two ICND tests.

Cisco has published the general guidelines for the content likely to be included on the exam:

Types of questions

There are seven types of questions on the CCNA exam

multiple-choice single answer – choose only a single correct answer:

multiple-choice multiple answers – choose more than one answer:

fill-in-the-blank – this type of question requires you to type the correct answer:

testlet – you get a description of the scenario and need to answer a couple of multiple-choice questions related to the scenario:

drag-and-drop – drag and drop items to the proper categories

simulated lab – a lab scenario where you can access and configure the devices. Your job is to fix the problem with the configuration by reconfiguring the devices.

simlet – combines sim and testlet question types.

You see a network topology, a lab scenario, and can access the devices. However, like a testlet, you also see multiple-choice questions based on the information contained in the scenario:
