How Much Would It Cost To Become A CCIE?

Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE certification) is considered to be a series of technical certifications for senior networking professionals who would be designing, building, implementing, maintaining and troubleshooting complex enterprise networking infrastructures. The CCIE certification program would be divided into series of six separate, tracks, and it is going to include the following: collaboration, security, service provider, data center, routing and switching, and wireless.

First, the CCIE was issued in 1993. The CCIE certification program would be updated continuously by Cisco. Fewer than 3% of Cisco engineers who would be achieving CCIE certification, accounting for fewer than 1% of all networking professionals who are present worldwide. Thus, if you wish to have this certification, you will require to spend lots of time in learning and also you would be required to gain access to some good study dumps, so that you would be able to crack the CCIE Exam, in a single attempt.

A lot of this information could be applied to all tracks, but I would be focusing on the Routing and Switching track. This is considered the track that I would be pursuing and it is the most popular one too, so it's the track that I would be most familiar with. This week we are going to look at the costs which would be involved with tackling the CCIE certification.

Exam Costs

This category could be considered as your fixed costs. All of the rest are technically optional as well as certainly subjective. But you would be required to shell out at least $1,715 in testing costs. The written exam would be setting you back $315 and the lab exam would be costing you about $1,400. Unless you would be working for Cisco or have some type of certification discount with Cisco or Vue, then this would be considered the bare minimum that you'll be able to get away with paying if you wish a CCIE. Of course, these mentioned costs are per attempt costs, so each time you fail a lab or written exam, the cost would be rising eventually.

There would be only ten locations worldwide which would be hosting the CCIE lab so there's a very good chance that you would be needed to add travel costs to your total. Recently, my friend took the lab exam in San Jose and his travel costs were about $550, which included the flight from Minneapolis, one-night hotel stay, and a rental car. Basically, each lab attempt would be costing you about $2,000.

Training/Study Materials

Most candidates would be spending a large portion of their CCIE budget on training costs. Whereas the exam costs are considered to be fixed plus travel if needed, the training costs would be varying greatly from person to person. I would say that if you wish to clear the CCIE in the first attempt, you would be required to go through the preparation courses offered by the SPOTO Club.

Whether you believe it or not, there would be lots of candidates who would have dropped five-figures on CCIE training. Some of them have done it completely out of their own pockets. Let’s take that you could run up your training budget: I would recommend you to gain access to the better study materials, which are being offered at the SPOTO Club.

I would say that the study materials, which are being offered at the SPOTO Club, would help you to lower your costs to quite a lot. So, I would recommend you to join the courses offered at the SPOTO Club, it would also help you out to achieve success in your Cisco and lots more IT Certification in a single attempt.
