The recertification policy for the CCIE exam would be changing, from February 24, 2020.
CCIEs would be needed to recertify their certifications every two years:
Active CCIE status would be showing your commitment to maintaining expert-level knowledge in an industry critical in order to achieve the success of virtually every organization. CCIEs would be encouraged to continually expand their technical knowledge as well as are required to clear a recertification exam every two years. If you don’t wish to complete your recertification before the deadlines, your CCIE certification would be suspended and you as well as your employer would be losing the benefits would be associated with your expert status. Candidates would be required to make an initial attempt of the CCIE lab exam within 18 months of clearing the CCIE written exam. If a candidate fails to do so within three years of clearing the written exam, he or she wouldn’t have to retake the written exam before being allowed to attempt the CCIE lab exam again.
Recertification Details
