On May 25 this year, I took the first time to take the Cisco CCIE Routing and Switching Lab exam and finally passed it. Winning the CCIE certification is a tough trip, and many people often have to spend more than two years to pass, which is much longer than the whole process of the exam I expected. Since so many IT professionals are interested in preparing and obtaining this coveted professional certification qualification, I will introduce the whole process of CCIE research through this article in detail, hoping to give a pass to CCIE. Some help.
1. CCIE Certification Overview
The following is a brief background on Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification. The CCIE consists of two parts. The first part is the written/on-machine test, and the second part is the “laboratory” test conducted throughout the day. The latter part is extremely difficult. I heard that on average, everyone has to pass 2.6 times to pass. Almost no one can pass an exam, and most people often can't pass the second exam. However, I am very fortunate. After my friend's introduction, I learned that SPOTO's dumps are very accurate, so I used the SPOTO question bank and finally passed the CCIE certification exam.
2. Start the journey of research
Initially, I also felt that obtaining CCIE qualifications may be similar to previous certifications such as MCSE+I, CCNA, CCNP, and SCSA. Now, of course, I know that I am wrong. I have never heard of CCIE before May 2018. Later, because I was involved in Cisco's products, and because I met an old friend working at Cisco, he was a CCIE, so I thought: "I should also get a CCIE certificate.” The old friend told me that he had obtained the certificate after two exams. This exam is very difficult. I still feel a little surprised when I listen to this: This guy is still a Cisco employee! And I have been working as a system engineer in the company. I have been doing this in other companies for many years. How can I find it difficult?
I have been dealing with 3Com LAN/WAN products for 6 years before passing the CCNA exam in June 2018. In January 2019, I obtained the CCNP and CCDA certificates, and then passed the CCIE written test in April of that year. Then I took the CCIE lab exam in Sao Paulo, Brazil in August of the same year (the main reason for going abroad is because the queuing time for exams in the US is too long).
The first time I took the lab exam, I didn't know the difficulty and complexity of the exam. However, the exam passed. When I recalled the first exam, during the two-day exam, the examiner sat next to me and checked my first wrong project. After that, I found that the CCIE lab exam time was reduced from January 2019 to one day.
Before the first exam, I did a lot of hands-on exercises and read a lot of information. I was confident that I could pass the exam and the results did not disappoint me. But I fully understand that this exam is much more than any other exam I have ever experienced.
3. The situation is grim
Did not say, in the next three or four months, I was desperate to do experiments and intensive study. Then plan to take the first exam on a Saturday in May. When the day of the exam arrived, I felt that I needed more review time, but there was no room for my schedule. I decided to relax with my family the night before the exam.
After breakfast on the second day, I reached the test site around 7:00. There are already 7 candidates waiting there. From the content of their conversation, it is clear that six of these guys are taking the second exam.
The lab exam itself is cruel but fair. My strategy is to take a moment to read the entire lab description and then write down my practice of completing the task and the score for each task. I also drew a picture for use in the lab. In the first 30 minutes, I asked the examiner for more paper. He said: "Do you need more paper?" The examiner helped me a lot during the exam. He answered questions he could answer and was very polite when he said he could not answer.
In the last 45 minutes of the lab, there were a lot of tasks that I didn't complete, and I didn't have much time to complete them. At this time, I was a little nervous and there was a technical problem that I could not control. The examiner told me that this question will not affect whether I complete the experiment. He suggested that I should pretend that this problem did not occur and continue experimenting. This made me feel uncomfortable, but I did my best to complete the experiment.
I have to wait until next Monday to get the results. In the waiting days, I kept thinking in my head, "Can I live?..." I also calculated the scores that I might lose, and I feel that I am dead. I know that my family is also made by my nervousness. For example, I may suddenly say: "God, I forgot to configure XYZ. I am finished!" I got the test results to notice on Tuesday morning. I feel great when I see the words that pass the exam. Now I have become a CCIE!
4. The last words
The CCIE articles listed above provide a lot of details about my preparation for the exam. SPOTO is a platform that provides great exam resources. In addition, SPOTO's teacher also gave me good advice. He said: "The skills to pass the exam are comprehensive preparation, experimentation, enjoy the exam, omniscience and watching movies before the exam." They pointed out: "CCIE Lab Exam It’s a marathon, not a sprint.” I took these suggestions into my mind, and it seems that listening to these suggestions has finally paid off.
