This question about whether the CCIE certification is considered to be worthy or not, it has been swirling for years with no clear answer. CCIE commands a high salary, but so do many certifications. When it comes to reputation, nothing compares. It is an individual decision that you would have to make before devoting money and time to the certification.

Why CCIE is worth it?

For starters, any certification signals that would have skill and dedication to an employer. The CCIE is going to bring immeasurable bona fides to your resume because it is considered to be the pinnacle of your certification pathway. Thought of as the PhD-level certification, the CCIE is going to comes with a lot of cloud among peers and employers. As for cost, it is considered to be an expensive exam, costing about more than $2,000 for both the written and labs portion of the exam.

And you would be finding opportunities. We have heard from lots of trainers that you could get a lot of attention from recruiters for high-level job opportunities. There are lots of training providers, which helps the candidates by providing them good training courses, like that offered by SPOTO.

There are six types of CCIE which would be offered by Cisco namely security, service provider, wireless, data center, collaboration, and routing and switching. These certifications are expert, high-level qualifications that would make you stand out from the crowd, which would be giving you the opportunities to grow and advance your career as a Cisco Network Engineer. Anyone of these certifications would highlight your intimate knowledge of Cisco Systems in the allotted domain in which each one is going to be based, making this CCIE certification is considered to be highly desirable.

It is worth pointing out that there is one final tier above CCIE Routing & Switching. The holy grail of networking, the CCAr (Cisco Certified Architect) would be required to be a mere $15,000 to take and entails an in-person board examination where you are going to defend a network architecture you would be designed.

Is it still worth pursuing the CCIE?

Basically, the answer would be depending on the knowledge and mindset of the candidate. So, if you wish to gain the answer to this question, you would have to ask yourself. No doubt the CCIE is considered to be the highest level of certification provided by the Cisco, and you would achieve lots and lots of benefits by being certified as a CCIE. But you should consider that for achieving the CCIE Certification, you would have to go through lots and lots of training, so if you are ready for that, it is totally worth pursuing you.

Conclusion:

The CCIE would have to add you up to your employment prospects, and to your earning potential. While there are many other certifications that would increase your salary, those would be irrelevant to your career path. If you are going to be interacting with Cisco devices, then no other certification would stand up to the CCIE after your name. Although many of the concepts that you would be learning in the CCIE are universal, your real value is going to be realized in a Cisco shop.

This is a choice which you and only you could make for yourself. If you decide to pursue it, then I would like to recommend you to join the training courses, which are provided by SPOTO, it would help you out to achieve your certification, with as much less effort as possible. So, join SPOTO and grab your dream of achieving this certification.
