CCNP Security certification program exclusively aims of the Cisco Network Security Engineers who are responsible for the Security of Switches, Routers, Networking appliances and devices, as well as deploying, choosing, supporting and troubleshooting Firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPN solutions for their networking environments.
Course Prerequisites
For this certification, the candidates are required to have a valid CCNA Security Certification or CCSP or any other CCIE Certification to be qualified as a prerequisite.
CCNP Security Exam Overview:
In order to earn the Cisco CCNP security certification, the candidates are required to pass the following exams:
300-208 SISAS
The 300-208 Implementing Cisco Secure Access Solutions or SISAS exam would be testing the validation of network security engineer knowledge of the architecture and components of secure access by utilizing 802.1X and Cisco TrustSec, which would be including the Cisco Identity Services Engine or ISE solution, architecture, and components as an overall network threat mitigation and would have endpoint control solution. It also going to validate that the knowledge of the fundamental concepts of BYOD using the profiling and posture services of the Cisco ISE. Candidates could prepare for this exam by taking the Implementing Cisco Secure Access Solutions or SISAS course, which would be offered by Cisco.
300-206 SENSS
The 300-206 Implementing Cisco Edge Network Security Solutions or the SENSS exam would be validating the knowledge of a network security engineer so as to configure and implement security on Cisco networks perimeter edge devices like a Cisco switch, Cisco router, or Cisco ASA firewall. The exam would be focusing on the technologies used to strengthen the security of a network perimeter like the Network Address Translation NAT, Cisco ASA policy and application inspection, and a zone-based firewall on Cisco routers. Candidates could prepare for this exam by taking the Implementing Cisco Edge Network Security Solutions or SENSS course, which is offered by Cisco.
300-209 SIMOS
The 300-209 Implementing Cisco Secure Mobility Solutions or the SIMOS exam would be testing a network security engineer on the variety of virtual private network or VPN solutions that Cisco would have made available on the Cisco ASA firewall and Cisco IOS Software platforms. Additionally, the exam would be validating the knowledge necessary to properly implement highly secure remote communications through VPN technology, like that of the remote-access SSLVPN and site-to-site VPN, DMVPN, FlexVPN.
Candidates could get prepared for this exam by taking the Implementing Cisco Secure Mobility Solutions or SIMOS course.
300-210 SITCS
This exam is going to tests a network security engineer on advanced firewall configuration and architecture with the Cisco next-generation firewall, utilizing identity and access policies. Some older technologies have been removed and included coverage for both Cisco Firepower NGIPS and Cisco AMP or Advanced Malware Protection. This exam is going to cover integration of Intrusion Prevention System or IPS and context-aware firewall components, as well as Web Cloud and Email Security solutions.
