Introduction CCIE Routing and Switching

Though there are no requirements of the professional certifications or training courses, the candidates would have to first clear the written qualification exam and then the corresponding hands-on lab exam to gain the certification. For this, they are supposed to have an in-depth understanding of the topics which are present in the exam blueprints and also are strongly encouraged to have three to five years of job experience before they attempt this certification.
CCIE Routing and Switching Exam Details:
In order to gain this certification, the candidate will have to clear this exam, which is divided into two modules:
Module One: CCIE R&S Written Exam:
Firstly, the candidate will have to clear the two-hour, written qualification exam, which is going to cover networking concepts and some equipment commands before the candidates are eligible to schedule the lab exam.
Module Two: CCIE R&S Lab Exam:
Later the candidates will have to clear the eight-hour lab exam tests which are going to test the ability of the candidates about configuring the actual equipment and troubleshooting the network in a timed based test situation. The candidates are needed to make an initial attempt at the CCIE lab exam within a time span of 18-months of passing the CCIE written exam. Candidates who do not pass would have to reattempt the lab exam within a time span of 12 months of their last scored attempt in order to validate their written exam. If they do not pass the lab exam within three years of clearing the written exam, they would have to retake the written exam before being allowed to attempt the lab exam again.
