Introduction to CCNP R&S:

 

Cisco Certified Network Professional Routing and Switching or shortly known as CCNP R&S Certification validates the ability of a candidate to plan, verify, implement and troubleshoot of local and wide-area enterprise networks and the collaborative work with the specialists on advanced security, wireless, voice and video solutions. The CCNP Routing and Switching certification would be appropriate for those who have at least one year of networking experience and who are ready to advance their skills and work independently on the complex network solutions.

 

The aspirants who have achieved the CCNP Routing and Switching will demonstrate the skills that are required in endeavor roles such as network engineer, support engineer, network technician or systems engineer. The knowledge of the CCNP Routing and Switching protocol from this certification will be provided with a long lasting foundation as these skills are equally significant in the physical networks of today as well as the virtualized functioning of the network of tomorrow.

 

CCNP R&S Requirements:

 

To appear for the Cisco Certified Network Professional Routing and Switching a candidate will require having a Valid Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching Certification or any Cisco Certified Internetwork Exerts Certification can act as a prerequisite.

Implementation of Cisco IP Routing (ROUTE):

 

This certification will enable the candidates will learn to plan, configure and verify the implementation for securing the enterprise LAN &WAN routing solutions using a wide range of routing protocols.

 

Implementation of Cisco IP Switched Networks (SWITCH):

 

This Certification will ensure that the candidate will learn to plan, configuring and verification and also their implementation of the composite enterprise switching solutions with the usage of Cisco's Campus Enterprise Architecture.

Recertification of CCNP R&S:

In order to pass this certification, the candidate will need to pass ONE of the following before the certification expiration date:

 

Passing 1any current 642-XXX Professional-level or any 300-XXX Professional-level exam, or

 

Passing any current CCIE Written Exam, or

Passing the current CCDE Written Exam or current CCDE Practical Exam, or

Passing the Cisco Certified Architect (CCAr) interview & the CCAr board review to extend their lower certifications

When a candidate is using a higher level of certification in order to extend other certifications, the expiration date of other certifications will be extended to the expiration date of the higher certification. It means that if you have a year left on your CCNA certification and you have earned a CCIE certification which is having a two-year of certification life then both of your CCIE certification and your CCNA certification will be expiring two years from the date that you have achieved the CCIE certification.
