Cisco Certification Roadmap for Success
Cisco is a market leader within the Networking sector. Cisco is well-known for its high-tech products, services, and certifications. Cisco Certifications are the gold standard in IT Networking. Cisco Certifications provide both theoretical and practical skills that enable candidates to manage complex network infrastructures.
Cisco has released the updated version of its certifications. However, candidates can still prepare for the current version. The current version of certifications will remain valid until February 2020. This Cisco Roadmap is intended for candidates such as these.
Cisco Certification - Based on Entry Levels
- Both CCENT and CCT are entry-level certifications. A candidate must be either CCENT or CCT certified to become a Network Technician.
- CCENT - Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician
- CCENT Certification is the foundation for networking. CCENT Certification provides skills for entry-level positions in the network industry. Candidates are taught how to manage, troubleshoot, and install branch networks. They also learn about network security. The CCENT certifies that candidates can work in small branch networks for enterprises.
- CCT - Cisco Certified Trainer
Cisco certifies Cisco Certified Technicians in the repair and replacement of Cisco Networking devices. Cisco offers online training to keep technicians up-to-date. Cisco's Technical Assistance Center helps CCTs quickly resolve support issues. CCT Routing & Switching is for candidates who are interested in Routing & Switching or Data Centers.
Let's take a look at each one of the Cisco Certification Roadmaps
Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA)
Due to changing demands, enterprises are constantly evolving in terms of their performance and scalability. The CCDA syllabus focuses on designing and addressing protocols in various domains. CCDA Engineers are given job titles such as System Engineer, Design Engineer, and Sales Engineer. CCENT, CCNA Routing & Switching, or CCIE are prerequisites for a CCDA.
Cisco Certified Design Professionals (CCDP).
Enterprises must be able to perform, scale, and provide availability. CCDP Certified candidates are trained in routing and addressing protocols, service visualization, and integration strategies. CCDP Professionals are Network/Solution Architects and Principle System Engineers. Senior Network Design Engineers are also available. You will need to have either CCDA or CCNA Routing & Switching, CCDA or CCNP Routing & Switching, or any CCIE/CCDE certificate.
Cisco Certified Design Expert (CCDE)
Cisco Certified Design Expert (CCDE) is for experts in network leadership, Network Leaders of the Architecture Team, and Network Leaders of IT Teams. The CCDE certification allows professionals to design networks for complex organizations. A CCDE Professional is an expert in the design of infrastructure. We will be able to accept network infrastructure design assignments that require deep technical knowledge. CCDE requires no formal prerequisites.
Cisco Certification Roadmap for Routing & Switching
CCNA Routing and Switching
Routing and switching are the foundation of Networking. CCNA Routing and Switching Professionals have the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary to operate and troubleshoot basic networks. CCNA Routing & Switching jobs include those who are Network Support Engineers, Jr. Network Engineers, Network Administrators, or Network Associates. CCNA Routing or Switching does not require any prerequisites.
CCNP Routing and Switching
A CCNP Routing and Switching professional can install, manage, and troubleshoot LAN and WAN. They also work with experts in security, voice, and video solutions. The CCNP Routing and Switching Certification allows professionals to be promoted to the positions of Network Technician, Support Engineer, Network Engineer, or System Engineer. CCNA Routing & Switching, or CCIE, is required before you can apply for CCNP Routing & Switching.
CCIE Routing and Switching
The highest level of certification in Routing and Switching, CCIE Routing and Switching is the CCIE Routing and Switching. The CCIE Routing and Switching Certification is for engineers with high-level skills who must plan, operate and manage complex networks. Candidates who have earned the CCIE Routing or Switching Certification can be appointed as Senior Network Engineers and Network Solution Architects, Senior Network Engineers, and Senior Network Planners and Designers. Although there are no prerequisites for CCIE Routing or Switching, it is recommended that candidates have at least three to five years of work experience and a solid knowledge and skill set.
CCNA Industrial
CCNA Industrial Professionals are equipped with the skills necessary to successfully implement and troubleshoot common industry standards protocols. This certification combines Information Technology and Operational Technology (OT), to improve business results. The CCNA Industrial Certification is for traditional network engineers, control systems engineers, plant administrators, and control system engineers who work in the manufacturing, process control, and oil and gas industries. CCENT, CCNA Routing & Switching, or any valid CCIE Certificate can be used as a prerequisite.
