2024 Roadmap for the CCNA
CISCO has been very focused on the CCNA exam since 2020. The organization decided to change the multi-examination system for CCNA certification to a single examination system. The exam will go live on the 24th of February 2024. This exam is called Cisco certified networking associate (200-301 CCN).
What are the Prerequisites?
This exam does not require any prerequisites. Cisco recommends that you have at least one year of experience in the application of Cisco solutions. This includes knowledge of basic IP addressing, network security, and network administration.
What does the new CCNA replace?
This new.The examination will replace the CCNA courses that were previously offered. Below are the courses that will be replacing them:
- CCNA Data Center
- CCDA
- CCNA Cloud
- CCNA Collaboration
- CCNA Industrial
- CCNA routing and switching
- CCNA Security
- Service provider for CCNA
- CCNA Wireless
What is the New CCNA 200-301?
CCNA security was previously the equivalent of CCNP security. This is changing. Network professionals start at the CCNA level. This is where they begin to learn about basic security and then move on to CCNP. The CCNA (200-301 CCNA), will teach you the basics of networking, and then you can specialize in CCNP.
This exam is open to all, and there are no prerequisites.
What are the Exams in CCNP
You must pass a core exam to be eligible for CCNP. After that, you will need to clear one of eight core examinations in the CCNP. These CCNP courses are for examinations:
- CCNP Enterprise
- CCNP Security
- Provider of CCNP Service
- CCNP Collaboration
- CCNP data center
- Cisco-certified DevNet Professional
These individuals are called Cisco Certified Specialists if they pass the CISCO examinations. They are recognized worldwide for their skills. There have been changes to CCIE. Unlike previous exams, one does not need to pass a CCIE writing exam. They will need to pass a CCNP core test and then complete an 8-hour lab.
This pattern will be followed by all the exams in the CCNP Enterprise. They will need to take the CCNP core exam, then work in the lab for eight hours. The CCIE can pursue a particular track and has a definite lab requirement. Cisco also has a new program called DevNet. This program combines infrastructure and programming in Python. There are four levels to the DevNet track. These include Cisco-certified DevNet associates, Cisco-certified DevNet Specialists, DevNet Professionals, DevNet Professionals, and Cisco-certified DevNet Experts in CCIE.
The Right Training for The Certification
It would be foolish to attempt the exam without any prior training. A candidate who has completed certified training with experienced trainers stands a better chance to pass the exam the first time.
