Is the Core Exam of CCNP different than Core Exam for CCIE?
CCNP core exam is the same as CCIE. you do not need to pass the CCIE core / written test again. CCNP core exam also brings you close to CCIE. CCNP core examination is also a qualification examination for CCIE certification.
Is there still a Written Exam of CCIE?
no, you now only pass the core exam to get CCIE Lab qualification. currently, there is no specific CCIE written test. this is the same as the core exam you passed the CCNP exam.
Do I become a Specialist after I pass the Core Exam?
Yes, after passing the core exam (CCIE written exam), you will become a Cisco certification expert. This is part of the new award program, in which you receive badges and recognition after each certification on your career path.
Before, you will not get any badges after passing the CCIE written exam. you must also pass the CCIE Lab exam to get the full badge.
For example, if you pass the ENCOR 300-401, you will get the Cisco certified expert badge (enterprise core certification).
What is the new scheme to renew the Cisco Certifications?
Now you can mix CE test and test for re-certification (previously CE or re-certification test). You need 120 CE or a mix of core exams with 40 CE to remain CCIE valid.
All accredited individuals are still required to register and pass the corresponding Cisco re-certification examination, but individuals can now re-certify by completing CE( continuing education) activities and earning points within 3 years. Higher points for continuing education have also been removed (e.g. for Cisco Live activities, content creation, writing exams, etc.). CE policy has also been updated. Now you need:
30 CE’s for CCNA re-certification
40 CE’s for Specialist re-certification
80 CE’s for Professionals re-certification (OR pass anyone professional concentration exam + 40 CE credits)
120 CE’s for CCIE re-certification (OR pass one technology core exam + 40 CE credits)
120 CE’s for CCDE re-certification (OR pass one technology core exam + 40 CE credits)
As usual, individuals can also re-certify by moving forward to the next level of certification. certification must be met before the certification expiration date. A certified expired candidate must repeat the entire certification examination process to restore his or her certification status (same as before and without any change here).
Conclusion
New CCIE Lab may be a little difficult by studying yourself as there are many new technological theories and you should need the rack to practice. However, if you buy SPOTO Lab products, you can get access to old lab materials for free and learn the new technological theories!
