There would be lots of protocols while establishing a connection on the internet. According to the type of connection which would be required to be established, the protocols utilization varies. The protocols could be defined as the characteristics of the connection.

Network Protocol

Simply, a protocol is considered to be a set of rules. A network protocol is considered to be a set of rules which would be followed by the network. Network protocols are reserved standards as well as policies made up of rules, procedures, and formats that would be defining the communication between two or more devices over a network. Network protocols would be conducting the action, policies, as well as affairs of the end-to-end process of timely, managed, and secured data or network communication.

They would be defining rules and conventions for communication. They integrate the complete progression requirement as well as constraints of initiating and accomplishing communication between routers, computers, servers as well as other network-enabled devices. Network protocols are required to be confirmed as well as installed by the sender and receiver for ensuring network or data communication. It would be also applicable to the software and hardware nodes that would be communicating on a network. There would be numerous kinds of network protocols.

Before we go further about the Network Protocols, if you wish to have more hands-on practice, you should acquire study dumps, which are being offered at the SPOTO Club.

Internet Protocol Suite

The Internet protocol suite is considered to be the set of communication protocols that would be implementing the protocol stack on which the internet runs. The Internet protocol suite would be sometimes known as the TCP/IP protocol suite, after TCP\IP, which would be referred to as the important protocols in it, the TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) as well as the IP (Internet Protocol). The Internet protocol suite could be described by the analogy with the OSI model, but there would be some differences. Also, not all of the layers would be corresponding well.

Protocol Stack

The protocol stack is considered to be the complete set of protocol layers that would be working together for providing networking capabilities.

Transmission Control Protocol (TCP)

The Transmission Control Protocol is considered to be the core protocol of the internet protocol suite. It would be originated in the network implementation in which it complemented the Internet Protocol. Therefore the entire suite would be commonly referred to as TCP/IP. TCP would be providing reliable delivery of a stream of octets over an IP network. Ordering as well as error-checking would be the main characteristics of the TCP. All major Internet applications like the World Wide Web, email as well as file transfer rely on TCP.

Internet Protocol(IP)

The Internet Protocol is considered to be the primary protocol in the Internet protocol suite for conveying data across networks. Its routing function would be establishing fundamentally the internet. Historically it would be connectionless datagram service in the original Transmission Control Program; the other being the connection-oriented protocol(TCP). Therefore, the Internet protocol suite would be referred to as TCP/IP.

Common Protocols Used and Their Ports

  • Domain Name System (DNS)
  • File Transfer Protocol (FTP)
  • Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP)
  • Hypertext Transfer Protocol over SSL/TLS (HTTPS)
  • Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP)
  • Post Office Protocol version 3 (POP 3)
  • Secure Shell (SSH)
  • Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP)
  • Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)
  • Telnet

For gaining more details regarding the Network Protocol, you should opt for the training courses which would be offered at the SPOTO Club. If you are pursuing any IT Certification, you should opt for SPOTO Club’s Study Dumps, to ensure your success.
