As you may have heard, Cisco is making some major changes to its certification process, which was announced in Cisco Live on Monday, June 10, 2019. If you have started to work on any current CCNP certification, then you are still proceeding as planned. You must complete the certification by February 23, 2020, and in the new program, you will be honored for the work you have already done.
Here is the current list of CCNP certifications, set to expire next February:
• CCNP Routing and Switching
• CCNP Collaboration
• CCNP Wireless
• CCNP Data Center
• CCNP Security
• CCNP Service Provider
• CCDP
Here are the new CCNP certifications that will begin next February:
• CCNP Enterprise
• CCNP Collaboration
• CCNP Data Center
• CCNP Security
• CCNP Service Provider
• Cisco Certified DevNet Professional
Please note that there is no CCNP routing and switching, CCNP wireless, and CCDP. All of these will be eliminated and will provide you with multiple ways of new CCNP Enterprise certification, and provide new expert certification according to which of the three ways you choose. To further clarify this point, Cisco provides a migration tool for its professional exam scores, which you can access here: CCNP Migration Tool.
It is important to note that if you pass the full exam path for all CCNP exams before the February deadline, then you will get the equivalent certificate under the new program. For example, if you pass the current CCNP ROUTE, CCNP SWITCH, and CCNP TSHOOT by February 24, you will receive the new CCNP Enterprise certification and the appropriate Specialist certification outlined by the corresponding Cisco ).
If you are re-starting learning under the new CCNP plan, you only need to take two exams for each CCNP certification: a core exam and a centralized exam you choose. To view your specific attention, please visit the Cisco Professional Certification page here: Cisco Professional Certification Update.
The core exam in each technical field can also be used as a passing exam for the CCIE laboratory exam. This means that there is no need to take any written CCIE exam before trying the laboratory. For example, if you have the latest CCNP in routing and switching, after the February deadline, you will receive CCNP Enterprise Certification and CCNP Certified Expert – Enterprise Core Certification. CCNP Certified Expert-Enterprise Core (300-401) is a prerequisite for the new CCIE enterprise infrastructure and replaces the written laboratory exam.
If you have been seeking Cisco CCNP certification, RIGHT NOW is the best time to register for any training and certification courses we are about to hold.
