PMP Experience Requirement #1

Note that, project management experience point in PMP certification requirements doesn’t ask for active management of a project. Participating in a project environment would also be counted for these five years of the experience requirement. However, out of these five years, 7500 hours, which is about 3.5 years, are required to direct and lead projects. Again, this wouldn’t mean that you must have enrolled in a project as a project manager. A leading or directing role, which could be a team leader of a group, supervisor of a junior team member or team member, assisting the project manager in certain of the project management activities.

PMP Experience Requirement #2

As said earlier, the project management experience point in PMP certification requirements doesn’t ask for active management of a project. Participating in a project environment again would also count for these three years of the requirement of the experience. However, 4500 hours of these three years, which would make about two years, required to be spent on directing and leading projects. Again, this doesn’t mean that you must have enrolled in a project as a project manager. A leading or directing role would suffice; it could also be the team leader of a group, a supervisor of a junior team member or team member, assisting the project manager in certain activities of the project management, etc.

There are furthermore requirements; you should also obtain the PMP Education Requirements, which is also required to be fulfilled.

PMP Education Requirement #1

For applying for PMP certification, you are required to have at least a secondary degree; for illustration, a high school or equivalent education level would be sufficient. If your highest acquired education level would be a secondary degree, in order to apply for PMP certification, you are required to ensure the below-mentioned three PMP certification requirements.
1. 5 years of project management experience
