The Certified Information Systems Auditor or CISA would be awarded to professionals who will exhibit proficiency in information systems security, audit, and control. The CISA is the leading certification which would be sponsored by the Information Systems Audit and Control Association, or ISACA. \uf0b7Maximum 1-year experience in IS or one year of experience in non-IS auditing would be able to substitute for one year of experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\uf0b760 to 120 university semester credit hours, which don\u2019t have the ten-year preceding restriction, could be substituted for the experience of one or two years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\uf0b7Bachelors’s or Masters’s Degree from a university that would be utilizing the ISACA curriculum could be substituted for one year of experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\uf0b7A master’s degree in IS or IT from a recognized university could also be substituted for one year of experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\uf0b7A candidate who would be with two years of experience as a university instructor, full time, in computer science, IS auditing, or accounting could be substituted for one year of experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\uf0b7Three years of IS auditing, controlling or security experience, or two years of IS auditing, controlling or security experience, and a whole year of a non-IS audit or IS the experience of two years experience as a university instructor, full time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maintaining the certification: <\/strong>
Obtaining the certification isn\u2019t just your last step; you must also maintain it to keep getting benefits from your latest designation. Here are the requirements of the maintenance:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\uf0b7Devotion to the professional code of ethics: CISA holders would be required to agree to the professional code of ethics to guide their personal and professional conduct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\uf0b7Dedication to CPE program: CISA holders must adhere to the Continuing Professional Education or CPE Program. Here would be its objectives:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\uf0b7Maintaining individual competency by updating the skills and knowledge in the area of IS auditing, controlling, or security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\uf0b7Providing a means for differentiating between qualified CISAs as well as non-qualified who wouldn\u2019t meet the requirements for the certification\u2019s continuation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\uf0b7It provides a mechanism for monitoring the IS audit, control and security, and maintaining professional competency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\uf0b7Helping the top-level management for developing a sound IS audit, control, and security functions by providing criteria for the selection as well as the development of personnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\uf0b7A minimum of 20 contact hours of CPE and a maintenance fee would be required on an annual basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CISA auditing standards Compliance: <\/strong>
All individuals who would be holding the CISA designation must agree to adhere to the ISA auditing standard developed by ISACA. Once you would have successfully become CISA designated, your value to employers would be increasing. Your certification would demonstrate that you have maintained and gained the knowledge required for meeting the dynamic challenges of IS auditing, control, and security of a modern enterprise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
